Story

Thanks for visiting my page!

As most of you are aware, I have been living and teaching in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, for just over a year now and have been tempted back for another 6 months. During this time, for almost the entire month of April, I shall be cycling from Vietnam's capital, Hanoi, all the way down to Ho Chi Minh City, my current home. This means covering a total of 2000km/1200miles (my stomach just lurched writing that) on a horrid, skinny-seated, bottom-destroying bicycle. Having only been to the gym a total of 5 times in my life, this is a pretty ambitious (I'm sure other adjectives spring to mind) move for me. The money I hope to raise will go to children's charities closely linked with the school I work for, ILA Vietnam. I would so appreciate any donations, however small. Pile the pressure on me!!

Check out the route... http://h2hrfvc.blogspot.com/2012/01/route.html - eek!

H2H (Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City), is an annual charity ride organised by a number of expats living in Saigon. This year's team consists of me &19 other riders. Each of us is volunteering our time and effort in an attempt to raise money for 3 charities: Saigon Children's Charity; The Children's Initiative and the ILA Community Network (ILACN). These charities share a common mission - to support impoverished children in Vietnam through education and healthcare. Each rider is being depended on to raise $750; I'm hoping to raise at least £750. Last year's ride generated a staggering $46,000 - a figure we intend to squash this year.

All of our riders are volunteers. We are paying for our own travel, food, accommodation, bikes, etc. Your donation is not funding a holiday for me. Your donation, however big or small, will go a long, long way out here in Vietnam.

Thank you so much! K xxx
