Story

Paris - Brighton - London - Manchester

Four cities, four marathons, four weeks, for Alan

Over the four Sundays of April 2013 I will be running a total of 104.9 miles in memory of my life long best friend Alan Lodge.

Lots more details and training updates can be found at www.fourmarathonsinfourweeks.com.

Alan died of a sudden cerebral haemorrhage on 17th February 2012 just over a month before his 30th birthday.  He'd been my friend since birth, the Best Man at my wedding, and I miss him dearly.

Your kind donations to the Brain Appeal will result in better understanding, diagnosis and prevention of such brain haemorrhages.   My hope is that others will not have to endure the shock and sadness that family, friends and colleagues have experienced following the loss of the one and only Alan Lodge.

The Brain Appeal aim to help improve the lives of the 1 in 6 people in the UK who are affected by a neurologic disorder.  They are a fantastic charity that raise much needed money to fund advances in Neurology, Neuroimagery and Neurosurgery.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.  Your details are safe with JustGiving - they will never sell them on or send unwanted emails.  Once you donate, they will send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.  It’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

About the charity

There are 14.7million people – that’s more than one in six – in the UK living with a neurological condition. Here at the country's leading neurological centre, we’re passionate about supporting the hospital to help improve the lives of patients through treatment and research.
