Story
In June, I've agreed to walk a very long way for Oxfam. The Trailtrekker challenge is to walk 62 miles/100km in 30 hours or less. I've been told that last year around 50% of people failed to complete the course. I've been told I should expect to hallucinate during the night part of the walk. I've been told that there's a high probability I'll lose toenails. (Or if I'm lucky, they might just turn black.) Actually everyone I've spoken to who knows anything about it says simply: "Don't do it." But I am doing it, and I'm really determined to make it to the finish - with or without toenails godammit. I'm looking forward to/scared of the challenge but most of all, I'm hoping I can raise lots of money for a cause I believe in. I would love it if you sponsored me - it will make a difference to Oxfam and it will also mean I can't back out.
P.S. I'm doing Trailtrekker as part of the Inhouse Outdoors team, made up of Alan and Janine from Oxfam's creative studio - and Random Darren. Any money you donate here, will go straight towards our team total. Just saying.
