Suddenly the strict training schedule I designed 5 months ago in October has slipped away to leave me with a 6 week intensive regime sound-tracked by the Eye of The Tiger. The 26 mile and 385 yard course has never seemed so daunting now that it’s the final countdown and donations I have received have helped massively to inspire me to keep lapping Clapham Common. Having never, ever been a runner in my life I started with learning to jog to the end of the road, and then to the end of the road and back again…Now I am up to running 12 mile distances so only another 14 or so to add on! 

I know this time of year everyone is inundated with requests for sponsorship and fundraising so I am incredibly grateful for anything you can spare for such a fantastic charity: Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.  Established in 1860, the Home has been taking in lost and stray dogs and cats and either reuniting them with their owners or giving them a safe place to be before they can be re-homed.  It is the only animal shelter that takes in all stray dogs and cats, no matter what their health or behavioral issues may be.  

 The country is seeing its highest level of dogs being abandoned on the streets for more than a decade and 345 are being dumped every single day - this number will inevitably rise as puppies are given as Christmas presents.   Homes such as Battersea are really struggling with the numbers and desperately need your financial support.  

 Please give generously to a charity which does such good work and to help them continue to give abandoned dogs and cats a home for life.
