Instead of send of sending christmas cards this year that will ultimatly get thrown in the bin! The staff at units across Greater Manchester West have decided they are going to donate the cost of their cards to Anthony Nolan for the fantastic work they do everyday saving lives.

Anthony Nolan find stem cell donors for people who would die from a variety of illnesses, including cancer, without a transplant. On the register waiting for a match there are currently 1600 people in the UK, the number grows to 37,000 world wide.

One of these is 20 year old Martin Solomon from Manchester who currently has 3 months to find a donor, before his illness gets critical. His family are urging people aged 16-30 to join the register at www.anthonynolan.org.
