Story

Hey

Those that know me will know that I'm living my love of adventure and as this one is a biggie, I felt I could justify asking people to sponsor me to do this one.

In April 2013, I'll be trekking Everest Base Camp with 20 other people for fun and of course in support of two charities - you can donate to either or both.  It's a little over two weeks, getting to altitudes of almost 6,000m in rather difficult and potentially dangerous conditions.  I've got a mixed feeling of fear and excitement, which I think is a good mix and a sensible one to have!

The reason I've chosen the Limbless Association as one of my two charities, is in honour of a friend's son who, last year suffered a horrific accident where a JCB fell on his leg, after months and months of surgery to save his leg, doctors were left with no other choice but to amputate.

Having known his parents for most of my life, it's clear that their strength has been passed on to their children, because just a week or so after the surgery, instead of feeling sorry for himself (which would be more than understandable) he's already looking at what adventures he wants to experience.  He's a true inspiration who I know will go on to do great things.  Don't tell anyone, but I'm secretly hoping to see him in Rio in 2016 - shhh!

He's already involved with the Limbless Association, so what better way to help him and others on their new journey.

Below is a bit about how safe and easy it is to donate via JustGiving, so before I let you read that bit, I just want to say a massive thanks in advance for sponsoring me on this exciting adventure!  You all rock!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
