Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2012 I am running the Great North Run for a very special charity set up by good friends of mine. Pete Dowen, my friends Dad, was diagnosed with a rare form of Pancreatic Cancer in November last year and has been undergoing treatment since then. There is very little research in this area so the doctors treating have had little to guide them. To try to do something to remedy this the family have set up a dedicated trust fund in conjunction with Newcastle upon Tyne NHS with the aim of raising £150,000 to fund research into this type of cancer and have raised a massive £80,000 so far. You can get more information and the latest news on progress at http://www.petespancreasproject.co.uk/

It is 10 years since my Dad lost his battle with cancer so this is a cause that is very close to my heart. I would be very grateful if you were able to sponsor me this year and help the Dowen's reach their fundraising target. So please dig deep and donate now.

The 2012 fancy dress outfit will be making an appearance on the page at some point!
