Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I've been a volunteer at the Bluebell Railway for almost a decade now.  When I first started, the railway had just begun to relay track from Kingscote to East Grinstead.   Standing in the way was a huge, clay capped landfill site in the cutting at Imberhorne lane that was reckoned to cost in excess of £5M to remove and make good so that trains on the line could finally return to East Grinstead around 50 years after the line was severed.  At long last most of the hard work and fund raising has been done, but we still need around another £570,000 to complete the work.

As part of the Sunday p-way gang I actually helped lay some of the rails when the job started, now I'd like to help finish it off.  The last time I walked from Kingscote to East Grinstead, there was no track, and the landfill site was covered in trees!

More information on the project to date can be found at http://www.bluebell-railway.co.uk/bluebell/ext/extprog.html
