Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As some of you know, my 6yr old daughter is a friend of Jamie Inglis.

Jamie has relapsed neuroblastoma. He has been fighting neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer, since he was 3 ½ years old. He has beaten the disease once but sadly the cancer has come back. Jamie’s immediate treatment was radiotherapy and chemotherapy to try and get the disease under control. As we do not have any relapse treatment protocols in the UK, Jamie’s best chance of beating neuroblastoma was to travel abroad for treatment.

Jamie's best hope for survival is in Germany where he is now being treated in hospital. The treatment Jamie needs costs £250,000 and will not be funded by the NHS which is why he needs your support.

For more information about the appeal and other ways to help, please see www.keepjamiesmiling.com.

In recent months, my daughters and I have managed to raise approximately £4000 through a sponsored run, stalls at community events, collections, a cake stall, a big raffle and the Jazz for Jamie family party night....

This is my last fundraising event and one of the most challenging!

The Great North Run will take place in Newcastle on Sunday 16th September 2012. The distance is 13.1 miles (a half marathon!). I have never completed the distance before. My furthest distance is 10km (just over 6 miles!).... This will be a HUGE challenge for me.

To follow in the spirit of Jamie and to make others smile, I will be completing the half marathon dressed as a clown!!

I'm not expecting to finish in a fast time but I am determined to complete it - if you will lend me your support?

Please give generously.

Every penny will go to the Jamie Inglis Appeal which is supported by the wonderful charity the Neuroblastoma Alliance.
