Everyone knows somebody who has suffered from cancer. A good friend of mine died at an appallingly young age. Macmillan do a fantastic job supporting sufferers and need donations to help carry on this great work.

I'm lucky enough to be able to get out and play golf so, when Martin suggested we enter the golf challenge, it seemed a good opportunity to do something more useful than just walking round the course shouting at wayward golf balls. The challenge is to play 4 rounds of golf in one day - that's a 20 to 25 mile walk (no buggies allowed) with around 350 golf shots thrown in. We're starting at around 4.30 a.m. and will play 2 rounds at Corhampton before moving to Petersfield for 2 more rounds - playing all 4 in the same place just seemed too easy. If we're lucky we should finish around 9.30 p.m. It makes me feel tired just typing the words!
