Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Miscarriage is fairly common but it had never occurred to me that it may happen to us.

We have now suffered 2 miscarriages and found it extremely difficult to cope with all the emotions involved. As soon as you get that positive pregnancy test you start planning a future for your child and so when you lose it your dreams are shattered and it is unbelievably hard to ever have those dreams again without the fear of a repeat miscarriage.

In 2011 I discovered a facebook group for The Miscarriage Association and found such a level of support that I would never have believed possible from people you have never met.

After several conversations we decided to do a Calendar Girls style calendar in order to raise awareness and much needed donations for the charity.

For me, a large part of my emotions were that I felt my body was failing me and that meant I was failing my partner. When conversations with the group started on the calendar I felt this was something I wanted to be a part of and it would help me find peace with my body, so to speak.

The Miscarriage Association is a charity very close to my heart and their work helps so many people. I just hope that I can contribute to them and do them proud with this calendar.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
