I lost my Nan earlier this year to cancer, compared to many thousands of peoples experiences with the disease, her fight was relatively short but devastating none the less. Having read up on what is being done to battle cancer in Wales I kept coming back to one organisation - Velindre Cancer Centre.

The amount of work they not only put into the direct care of cancer patients, but also their support of the thousands family members and the development of research into the disease is inspiring.

It is this inspiration, along with the memory of my late Nan that has spurred me into action to take Kilimanjaro head on!
