Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last summer I had the amazing experience of cycling from Oxford to Paris, with teammate Matt Landells, a total of 250miles over 4 days. We enjoyed this trip so much that we started planning our next journey straightaway, and it seemed only fitting that during the year of the London Olympics, we follow an Olympic theme. So it was decided that we would create a team to test our endurance, and cycle the 1800miles from Athens to London, visiting a couple of Olympic and Winter Olympic sites (Rome and Grenoble, etc.), giving ourselves the month of July to do so.
M.E. is a disabilitating, chronic and fluctuating illness as symptons are not always present and so the 250,000 sufferers within the UK could have a perfectly normal day, but then the next; relapse and barely be able to move. Currently there is no known cause and therefore there is no cure. I have a personal attachment to this illness as a close member of my family was diagnosed with it at the end of last year, and so it is a very worthwhile cause for me. Action for M.E. offer support for sufferers and their families, whilst continually campaigning for more research, treatments and better services.
