Hospitality Action is calling on its physically fit supporters to take part in a cycle ride from London to Paris this summer as the charity endeavours to raise £20,000 for those in need.
Travelling between two of the world's most fascinating cities, participants will leave London on 29 June and will pass through the English countryside before crossing over the Channel, finally arriving in Paris on 1 July. The route is considered to be one of the best cycling routes in Europe, and two leading chefs have already signed up to take part. Michelin-starred Alan Murchison of L'Ortolan in Shinfield, Berkshire, and Hayden Groves, Elior's executive chef at Lloyd's of London are both keen cyclists and eager to rise to the challenge. They will be joined by Michael Cross, Hospitality Action board member and winner of the 2011 HA's Heroes award.
Cycling this number of miles in three days requires months of training, dedication and commitment. To do this event for such a worthy cause as Hospitality Action will make all the hard work and effort worthwhile."
To ride 300 miles between two of the greatest cities in Europe is quite a challenge. However, to complete it in three days for the HA will be both a sporting achievement and a privilege.
