Look at your stove. Did it light or turn on without a hassle?

Clean water and reliable cooking gas are little things that we often take for granted. When we are thirsty, we grab a bottle of water or go to the tap. We do not need to walk miles every day to draw water from a filthy well or river. When we are hungry, we turn on a stove or oven or microwave and cook a meal. We do not need to find firewood on a daily basis. In Kenya, clean water and reliable energy sources are luxuries that are not available to many communities.

Along with a group of my dedicated peers at the University of Westminster in London, I am working in conjunction with the wonderful charity Dig Deep to bring clean and renewable water and biogas solutions to communities in Kenya. Throughout the year we will be working towards a goal of cumulatively raising £30,000; enough to complete a community project (i.e. sink a borehole with a renewable energy pump). Culminating in an expedition starting in Kenya and ending on the roof of Africa, Mt. Kilimanjaro, we hope to raise awareness and a little money to battle the water crisis.

Please stand alongside us and fight the good fight. Until £1300 is raised on this page, half of all donations go directly to the charity and the other half go to fund the expedition. Any amount raised after that target is met goes directly to the charity. Donations of any amount go a long way to achieving our goal. If you cannot donate, please help by spreading the word as far as you can.

Dig Deep is a non-profit charity that works in direct partnership with Kenyan communities to provide clean water sources and renewable biogas solutions. From digging boreholes and shallow-wells to building biogas digesters, their efforts have far reaching effects: improved health and living conditions, improved education, gender empowerment, etc.
