We breed and train guide dogs to give blind people freedom and mobility

Story

When I first started working in The City I lived in a village in Kent. Every day I'd make the same arduous commute to work, starting with a 40 minute train journey in to London Victoria. I'd then battle in the rush hour to the underground, taking the Victoria line to King's Cross, changing to the Circle line, then continuing on to my destination, Moorgate. A 90 minute journey. I did this for 2 years and every day for those 2 years I shared this journey with another guy, but this guy had a dog. I didn't know him but every day I saw someone who was blind having the freedom to live a full and active life because of a highly skilled, expertly trained, devoted dog.  The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association exist to provide blind and partially sighted people with this mobility and freedom. They also campaign for the rights of people with visual impairment, educate the public about eye care and fund eye disease research.  I’d be very grateful if you’d consider sponsoring me to help change lives.

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
