Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am privileged to have been offered a place to run the 2012 London Marathon for the ABF The Soldiers’ Charity and hope to raise over £1600 for such a worthwhile cause that is close to home for soldiers and their families both past and present. This is my first attempt at running a marathon, not something that is usually associated with SIB life, that I am certain was something involving cigarettes and alcohol when I first joined the Branch!
I returned from an operational tour in Afghanistan in 2009 where my team investigated the deaths and repatriated over 30 British Forces personnel killed in action on Op HERRICK 9. Having attended numerous coroners inquests around the country and meeting the families of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their country since that tour, it is heartwarming to see a charity committed to the support of bereaved families and soldiers who were wounded in those incidents.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Donations can also be made by sending a text message to 70070 with the code ITKE88 followed by the amount you want to give (£1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10)
I hope you'll join me in supporting ABF The Soldiers' Charity.
