Story

Our 12 in 12 in 2012 challenge should be a breeze! We are aiming to complete 12 events in 12 months during 2012, across 4 countries, over 2 continents, on water, on foot, on bike, up hills, down lakes and in various forms of fancy dress!

We'll be running 61k, canoeing 18k, cycling 249k, climbing 5.6k, travelling 12,800k and eating a blue whale's body weight in pasta! That's not counting the trai...ning....

We're doing all this with the aim of raising at least £2012 to support the fight against Cystic Fibrosis [http://www.cftrust.org.uk/aboutcf/whatiscf/] and we need your help: follow us, sponsor us, support us or join us on an event... whatever you can do, we will appreciate it. Whatever else you do, spread the word!

THE EVENTS!
7th JAN - Great Winter Run (www.greatrun.org) It might only be 5k but it's bound to be snowing, raining or blowing a gale. Through in Arthur's Seat and it certainly is a challenge but hopefully one lots of people will feel able to join us on!

3rd FEB - Ultimate 80s Gym Class Challenge (Completing all the gym classes in Fitness First, Cathcart Road, Glasgow - approx 6 hours of any classes they'll throw at us while dressed in 1980s dayglow spandex!)

25th MAR - Bradford 10k (http://www.epilepsy.org.uk/involved/bradford10k) - Part of our goal is to take part in as many events across the country as we realistically can. As well as including this event in our FCF challenge we are making a separate donation to Epilepsy Action, a great charity that organise this event.

7th APR (tbc) - Canoeing the length on Windermere - the largest natural lake in England (This event is still to be confirmed with a local company who will provide equipment and an instructor)

20th MAY - Great Manchester Run - (www.greatrun.org) A 10k route around the streets of Manchester.

15th-18th JUN (tbc) - Glasgow to Islay Bike Ride - 150k of scenic routes and road munching

14th JUL (tbc) - 3 Peaks challenge (Ben Nevis, Mount Snowden and Scafell Pike - with a professional support company)

18th AUG - Glasgow to Edinburgh Bike Ride (a self-supported trip through the central belt)

9th SEPT - Chicago (Yes, CHICAGO) half marathon - one of the most popular half-marathons in the US.

OCT (date tbc) - Great Edinburgh Run - the most challenging 10k in the Bupa Great Run series: "I found it very tough" Martin Mathathi, 10k World Championships Bronze medallist!

NOV (date tbc) - Cycling the route of the 7 hills of Edinburgh with the help (or hindrance) of a tandem bike (23k distance, 2.2k climbing and all in victorian dress)

DEC (date tbc) - Great Santa Run - 5k across Princes Street Gardens, yes, dressed as santa.
