Story

John Jackson, 30 will swap the Medway towns for the African plains to climb the highest freestanding mountain in the world, Mt Kilimanjaro, as I embark on the ultimate eleven day challenge for Alzheimer's Society in Febuary 2012.

I have callenged myself to trek to the summit of mount Kilimanjaro. Because my Grandad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease two years ago. It seemed to happen so quickly one day My Grandad was able to drive my Nan to do some shopping. The next he had a couple of falls, then days after I was with him in A and E holding him up, and seeing his frustration with everthing. Mainly as to why he could not go home. When I go and see my Grandad now he oftern tells me dont get old John. I feel helpless, but with this huge fundraising callenge I can try and help. I wouldnt want to wish this appon anyone so, By raising funds for Alzheimer's Society i and you will be helping provide more support for carers and people with Alzhimers and dementia as well as joining the fight to find a cure. This is going to be One hell of a challenge for me, please dig deep thank you.
