Fundraising for The Jericho Foundation

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As I head inexorably to 40 (next year), I realised that I didn't want to go too much further and start to regret missing experiences and challenges that others seem to take in their stride. As I heard about the plans to rejuvenate part of the city I live in, and the work that is slowly making something that was impossible become possible, I decided to be part of our community in a way that counted and that would possibly leave me a changed person, and a community changed for future families and even generations.
I've never run before other than at school and a bit as a student, but I'm going straight for this half-marathon. I'm reading up on the subject, following a training plan, and would ask for your support to turn a crazy, impulsive and exhausting few things turn into strategic support for an idea that flies in the face of what current news and media would have you believe about our community.
A bit about the project:
Kingsbridge Community Sports is a partnership of local organisations who want to develop the Holders Lane Playing Fields at the back of Canon Hill Park. An exciting new venue will be created, providing a large range of sports and leisure activities for the local community. At the moment the fields and pavilion are owned by Birmingham City Council and are in poor condition. Kingsbridge are in the final stages of talks with the council about taking control of the site and developing it for and with the local community. As a key partner of Kingsbridge, The Jericho Foundation is handling the fundraising arrangements for this event.
