We provide wigs to children with cancer to restore their confidence and identity.

Story

For the past 3 years, Vic & I have been taking part in the annual Pink Car Rally. This event raises money and awareness for a small children’s charity called The Little Princess Trust.

The Little Princess Trust supplies free-of-charge ‘real hair’ wigs to children who have lost their own hair through cancer and other illnesses.

Over the course of the past 3 years, Vic & I have raised over £2300.00 (including Gift Aid) for this amazing charity, by taking part in the Pink Car Rally’s. As this year is the final, and largest, Pink Car Rally, we wanted to mark the occasion with something a little different.

In January 2011 we both decided to start growing our hair, purely with the intent of donating it in August 2012 to be used to make into wigs by the charity, to coincide with the last rally. We need to have at least 6 inches of donate-able hair by that time. We love the idea of being able to donate hair to be made into wigs, and are hoping to call on your good nature, one last time, so help us raise the money towards turning that hair into wigs.

As you may know, in January 2011, my hair was at its very shortest, with very little hair at all apart from a fringe. I have found the task of growing my hair very arduous, as have had (and enjoyed having) shorter hair for many years, and I really miss it! It has been made harder by not being able to have layers cut into my hair to help it sit in a nicer style, I have just had to let it grown ‘au naturel’

As it stands, I can’t wait until August so that I can chop it all off and get back to having very short hair. The 18 months of growing has been the hard part for me. It will be a different story for Vic, she loves long hair, and has been enjoying growing and styling her lovely long locks. So for her, having the hair cut is actually going to be the hard part.

I hope that you will support us and help us to raise the money to turn our hair into wigs for children going through a very hard time of their lives.

Thanks xx

The Little Princess Trust sources and pays for 'real hair' wigs for children who have lost their hair, primarily through cancer treatment. If you want to know more about the amazing work that The Little Princess Trust does (including a video from one of their ambassadors, Gail Porter) please look at http://www.littleprincesses.org.uk/

Please help us to support this amazing charity. As it is only a small, volunteer-run charity, it relies totally on donations and fund-raising efforts such as this. Every penny that you sponsor will go directly to the charity, and will help towards the cost of producing a wig for a child who has to cope with losing their hair. The cost of producing a real-hair wig is approx £300.00, and the charity supplies these to the children at no cost to their families. Some children can need more than one wig throughout the course of their illness - so every penny counts – please be as generous as you can. We are so proud that we can help to raise money and awareness for this very worthwhile charity.

Another way that you can help this wonderful cause is to spread the word of the Pink Car Rally. We need more pink cars to join in for the day. If you can send the link to this page to anyone one that you know who may have (or know anyone that has) a pink car, then we can make the 2012 rally even more spectacular!

Many, many thanks in advance for your support!
