Sylviane's Everest Base Camp Trek
Fundraising for Women for Women International UK
Story
Dear Friends,
As many of you might already know, I have been involved with Women for Women International for the past 5 years.
WFWI helps women survivors of war rebuild their lives through a combination of direct aid, training education and micro credit so as to enable them to move beyond crisis and poverty and to build confidence and self-sufficiency. Helping women establish the means to earn a sustainable living will transform their lives, their prospects and their community as they regain a sense of worth and dignity.
In October, a group of 10 women led by Susan Harper Todd will be trekking to Everest Base Camp (5364m) in support of Women for Women International. I have decided to take part in this great adventure and help our group raise a challenging £100,000! (Funds donated will entirely benefit WFWI as each participant is responsible for all travel cost and local expenses)
Having taken this decision, I realise how lucky I am to be able to freely embark on such an amazing journey to the Himalayas and hopefully make it an achievement to be proud of. By supporting me today, you will invest in these courageous and underprivileged women who are eager and desperate to sustain their children and give them the chance of a brighter future.
