Event: Women for Women International UK - Trek to Everest Base Camp, on 5 October 2011

Story

Dear friends, family and colleagues,

In October, I will be trekking to Mt Everest Base Camp (5,300m) in aid of the charity Women for Women International UK which helps women survivors of war rebuild their lives.

Led by inspirational  Everest summiteer Susan Harper Todd, our team has committed to raise £100,000 in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of International Women's Day.

Since its creation, WfWI has given hope to more than 290,000 women survivors of war and conflict and helped them move towards economic self-sufficiency with its year-long programme of direct aid, rights education, job skills training and small business development. WfWI has distributed $95 million in direct aid, microcredit loans and other programme services.

Please help me reach my personal fundraising target of £10,000 by giving what you can.

Thank you very much for your support, Siri
