Story
On Thursday 6 October 2011, a hardy group of Royal Ramblers will set off from the Belle Vue Bars pub in Filey and walk to the Princess Royal pub in Sheffield. That's over 90 miles, in just three days!
Why? Terry McNamara sadly passed away in March 2011 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was landlord of both pubs for years and what better way of raising money in his memory than walking between the long distance from bar to bar.
His family have asked for donations for two places that helped Terry so much in his final weeks and months - St Luke's Hospice Sheffield and the Sheffield Macmillan Unit for Palliative Care (Part of Sheffield Hospitals Charitable Trust).
For logistical reasons, we've set up separate pages for the two charities so if you are able to kindly donate, we would be very grateful if you could split however much you can give by two and donate via this page and the separate St Luke's Hospice page.
Terry was a fabulous man who meant so much to us all so anything you could give to spur us on would be greatly appreciated by the Ramblers and our two charities.
