Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Our names are Amy Jones and Matt Tandy, like many people in the UK we have a passion for animals, but one species that we have a great fondness for is the African Lion.

Like millions of others we watch the ITV programme Lion Country and believe that the work that they do through the non profit organisation ALERT, both fascinating and inspirational.

Tragically the African Lion population is dwindling at an alarming rate - a drop of 80-90% in the last 30 years. This is why projects such as ALERT are playing such an important role in stabalising and encouraging the population once more. By supporting the breeding of lions they can reintroduce healthy full grown cubs back into the wild to boost the numbers of wild lions.

We are participating in a 50 mile walk over 2 days on 11th-12th June 2011 in order to raise important and necessary funds for this organisation. The walk will take place along the Wye Valley walk, over various terrains in Herefordshire.
