So.....Saddle Sore Steve has come out of retirement, dusted down the bike and will be taking part in the Grand Depart Classic, riding the first road stage of the 2022 Tour de France, the day before the pros. It will be 183km of hills, (I hate hills!) bridges (my fear of bridges is greater than my hatred of hills!!) sweat and tears. The time limit to complete the course is 12 hours.

I’ve signed up to this as I met some inspirational riders in Brussels during the Grand Départ Classic 2019, many of whom are suffering with Prostate Cancer. I’d like to push myself to my limits, to exorcise some demons from my last ride and in order to help save men’s lives, but I need your help......now more than ever; Covid put paid to our fundraising efforts in 2020 & 2021 and this will have hit the charity very hard. With that in mind, I’ve doubled my fundraising goal. 

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. Every hour one man dies from prostate cancer – that's more than 10,800 men every year. 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer in their lifetime. Ignoring prostate cancer won't beat it. Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition – to stop men dying from prostate cancer.
