When a good friend who’d lost his Dad to MS explained that he was aiming to ride his bike over 300 miles over 3 days to Newcastle from London..and then do a half marathon...the great north run I was impressed. When he said he was putting a team together to maximise fund raising I was in!! In previous years the cycling element would be tough but doable. As age and 7 knee surgeries catches up on me this will be a hell of a challenge. I had a knee joint replacement last Dec and it’s not gone as well as I’d hoped so training has been sparse and less intense. I undergo an 8th and hopefully last surgery the day after we return from this challenge. Walking is painful and running a no no! My son will do the run to keep it in the Kennedy family. Our aches and pains are nothing compared to those who suffer daily from the cruel and debilitating condition that MS is. Funding is always needed to help those living with the condition and to continue research into one day hopefully finding a cure. Any help would be massively appreciated.
