Story
Pete, Stoney and Anil have decided to walk the 80 mile Dales Way from Bowness-on-Windermere back to Ilkley, and rather than doing it over the suggested 6 days we've decided to do it over 3 for our chosen charities, Mind Mental Health and Macmillan Cancer Support. Walking the equivalent of 3 marathons in 3 days is going to be tough, but the charities chosen mean something to us in different ways and any donations you make would be greatly appreciated!
Macmillan Cancer Support takes the time to understand a person, so that they can provide the support, tools and inspiration needed to find the best way through. They understand everyone's cancer journey is unique. Macmillan provides physical, emotional and financial support to help those affected by cancer to live life as fully as they can. Macmillan wants to make sure they can provide the right support at the right time to everyone who needs it.
Mind are the mental health charity that won't give up until everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets both support and respect. They provide supportive and reliable information that empowers people to understand their condition and the choices available to them, removing the stigma about talking about mental health. One-in-four adults and one-in-ten children experience mental illness during their lifetime, and many more of us know and care for people who do. Improved mental health and wellbeing is associated with a range of better outcomes for people of all ages and backgrounds. Mind's blue light programme offers specialist support to emergency service personnel who will always need support with their mental health, because of the pressures they face in their roles.
