Story
As many of you may or may not know I will be taking part in my first ever marathon- ASICS Manchester Marathon on Sunday 7th April. I have decided that I would like to raise money for a local charity- Grimsby and Cleethorpes Sands.
Back in 2010 myself and Amy found out we was expecting identical twins, but that was soon all to change, we was those parents whose world had just been turned upside down, two beautiful little boys that was just to precious for this earth.
Sadly, the death of a baby is not a rare event. Every 90 minutes in the UK a baby dies shortly before, during or soon after birth. This is unacceptable and Sands is determined to reduce the number of babies dying by at least 20% by 2020. We receive very little government funding and rely entirely on donations from people like you.
By donating to Sands you are sharing our vision of a world where fewer babies die and helping to ensure that every bereaved family, wherever they live in the UK, gets the care and support they need, when they need it, for as long as they need it.
With your help they will be able to pay for things such as room costs each month for their support group, training at the local hospitals and training for befrienders. As well as this they will also be able to supply our local hospital with heart in their hands keepsakes for bereaved parents.
