We are the MS Society. We are strong enough to stop MS together.

Story

Update: I made it with our team to Newcastle and I finished the Great North Run! The wind during the 330 miles of cycling really made it difficult. But I'm so glad I did it!

On September 5th I'll be  starting a cycling adventure from London to Newcastle, taking three days to arrive. On the fourth day I'll be then be running as part of the Great North Run half marathon in Newcastle!

I'll be riding with the excellent bunch in the Race Against Tyne team, mostly members of Penge Cycle club; all of us are raising money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Every donation you give will help,

The people that suffer with MS have greater challenges every day of their lives so for us to give up just 4 days to help in away way that we can is a small sacrifice.

How are we doing this?

Day One we will start at the Olympic Park in Stratford, East London. We'll ride north through Essex and Cambridgeshire, ending the day in  Peterborough, covering about 90 miles.

Day Two we'll set off on a very gradual  climb out of Peterborough, through Stamford to the outskirts of Grantham. From there the remaining 100 miles are pan flat. Largely on lanes taking in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire as we go. We finish the day in the fine city of York, clocking up 130 miles in total.

Day Three we leave York and head north (as ever) covering 100 miles up to Yorkshire and into Northumbria, ending the day in Newcastle.

Day Four is the big race day itself running 13 miles (21km) through Newcastle, down Gateshead and ending on the finish line in South Shields on the coast!
