Story

The Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool is one of Europe’s biggest and busiest children’s hospitals with treatments ranging from A&E to various Cancers. I am raising funds over the next 6 months, as part of the WEX Europe team to support the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital Room with a View Challenge.

Through this challenge we will raise funds to enable the delivery of a high-tech distraction system into a specialist treatment room. This distraction system creates an immersive experience that calms a child undergoing treatment by projecting videos and sounds onto the walls of the treatment room (to see more click here: ttps://vimeo.com/272770606 .)

In order to raise funds, I am one of an 8-person team taking part in the challenge (taking place from the 4th-5th June) to climb the 3 highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales within 24 hours. The challenge will cover a total of approximately 43 km (26.7 miles) with a total ascent of 3,000 m (9,800 feet), beginning at the base of Ben Nevis in Scotland and ending 24 hours later at the base of Snowdon in Wales. The hike will be a physically and mentally demanding, but I am excited for the challenge.

To motivate and support me through the challenge, I am asking my friends, family, colleagues and the broader community to donate to this amazing charity! Each member of the team has a personal target of £2,000 which will contribute to our total target of £30,000.

All funds raised will go directly to Alder Hey Children's Hospital, with no contributions going towards the cost of the hike. So you can be assured that every penny you give will go towards the children at Alder Hay.
