Story
On 22nd September 2018, little Ethan Ramsey was born to Jason and Katherine having sadly passed away. Jason and Katherine have benefited amazingly from the support of SANDS from that moment on. They provided a load of homely touches in the nightingale suite (a room supported by SANDS in the hospital specifically set aside for still births.) There were booklets about the autopsy process, books for grandparents to help explain what the parents are going through, books for friends and other family.
This particular fundraising effort is part of the Peterborough and Stamford Sands team. Kath and Jason attend the support group ran by this branch of SANDS and have found it so helpful to meet with other parents who have been through what they have.
One of the most difficult things when you lose a child is how powerless you feel. You spend a lot of your time having things happen "to" you with nothing you can really do.
In loving memory of Ethan, we are undertaking a number of events through the first half of 2019.
Milton Keynes Half Marathon (May 6th 2019)
Jason Ramsey (Dad) and Noel Ramsey (Granda) are running the Half Marathon together for SANDS.
Milton Keynes Superhero Fun Run (May 6th 2019)
At the same time Kath Ramsey (Mum) and Emily Ramsey (Sister) are in full training for the fun run. Worth a donation if only to see them in a superhero outfit!
The Yorkshire Three Peaks (July 8th 2019)
The Ramsey's and the Hobbs Family along with some friends have decided to do the Yorkshire Three Peaks on 8th July 2019 as a way of raising money and awareness for Sands.
