Story
When a friend of mine who had been personally impacted by MS asked me if I wanted to join his new fundraising event called “The Race Against Tyne”-cycling 350 miles from London to Newcastle and THEN doing the Great North Run Half Marathon- I didn’t hesitate to say “No.”
And yet, through a combination of peer pressure, ego massaging and complete ignorance, here I am, weeks away from the hardest thing I’ve ever done.
Those of you who know me, or just have eyes, will know that I’m no runner. My training for this has involved Literally My First Ever Run. And it’s been as tedious and tough as you might imagine.
On top of this we are of course cycling to Newcastle in the three days prior, 100 miles day 1, 150 miles day 2 and tapering down to 100 miles day 3. Meaning our legs will be well and truly spent, as we quiver on the starting line in Newcastle, lululemon hankies bunched in our hands.
And so I need your help! Your pennies and pounds combined with my crushing sense of guilt will power me over the line! Even just the cost of a cup of coffee will help contribute to vital care giving and research. Anyone who donates over £30, I will personally curse your name on the streets of Newcastle for driving me on and deeper into my pain threshold!
Thank you in advance for your generosity! 🤜🤛
