This will be my eighth year as a participant in the annual SC charity Cycle Adventure having proudly started as one of the twenty riders on the very first ride in 2010. The first day and a half of this 2018 ride follows same the route as the 2010 ride from Hue to Lang Co and over the Hai Van Pass.  The Phuoc Tuong and Phu Gia passes approaching Lang Co at the end of day 1 are now thankfully traffic free as road tunnels have been opened.

Saigon Children's Charity (SC) takes simple, practical steps to ensure that the children most in need get an education.

Their work achieves rapid results (scholarships get children into school 
immediately) and it works. 

Where Saigon Children provides scholarships the school drop-out rate falls and longer term a good education increases their choices in life and their opportunity to find and sustain decent paid employment.

Each rider pays a personal registration fee to Saigon Children's Charity which covers all the costs of the event. In addition, and separate to the
registration fees, each rider also commits to raise through sponsorship donations which go directly to support the SC programmes.

'Saigonchildren' works toward a goal of eliminating barriers to education by granting scholarships, providing vocational and life skills
training, building schools in rural areas, and by supporting other
organizations that help students with disabilities. 

In 2017 alone the Cycle Adventure raised over US$ 73,000 to help children, and in total, over the span of 8 years, this event has raised over US$ 350,000, providing substantial support for the critical work 'Saigonchildren' does in Vietnam.
