Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm getting ready for the 'off', leaving The White Hart in Ashton Keynes early tomorrow morning, intending to stagger into St George's Hall in Bristol at lunchtime on Saturday ready to sing along with hundreds of other blokes - in harmony, in unison, songs of male angst and emotional insecurity as well as a celebration of bloke song that should raise the rafters!  If you're reading this and are thinking of sponsoring me for such a good cause, your support will put and extra spring in my step!

Here's what I'm up to:

On Saturday October 6th, north north Wiltshire's famous men's singing group, the Magnificent AK47, celebrates its 10th anniversary year by organising a fabulous day of bloke song in the august surroundings of St George's Hall, Bristol.  Joined by a number of other local men's choirs we will be running a day of workshops and then participating in an evening concert at which the various groups will showcase their talents.  The whole event is being run as part of our fundraising efforts for this year's selected charity, Prostate Cancer UK.

As an additional contribution to the fundraising, I will be setting out with a couple of other Magnificent AK47singers on a 40 mile reverse pilgrimage from our spiritual home at the White Hart pub in Ashton Keynes all the way to St George's, taking two and half days to cover the route. We will be walking through the bandit country north of the M4 corridor, avoiding pubs and  other dangerous places, and then striking out to Bristol via the ancient Roman Fosse Way, along the  Macmillan Way long-distance footpath, and then into Bristol via the Bath-Bristol railway path.

If you'd like to support our chosen charity, and to provide me with an extra incentive to keep putting one foot in front of another, you can make a donation through JustGiving. The process is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

And, if you've read this far: thank you!
