Steve Burne was diagnosed with cancer in May 2017 which has since spread and become terminal in October. Time is precious.

For over 15 years, Steve has been involved with Ronald McDonald House Charities, for the past five years as Chair of the Manchester House Board of Governors, since it opened in 2012. Because of the people he has met, Steve has a passion for keeping families together, close to their children in hospital.

In Steve's words....'Although devastated by my cancer prognosis this year, I am
lucky to be here having survived several cardiac arrests in October. My time is
limited and I want to work hard to leave a lasting legacy, something that will
have an impact for many years to come.

So along with friends and family we set out at New Year to raise £250,000 for Ronald McDonald House, Manchester so we can help keep families together, close to their children in hospital. This was to convert 3 existing spaces at the House into new larger family rooms. We have since raised over £360,000 and we are now able to provide a total of 5 additional rooms for the House, together with an area of reflection. Additional funds will be towards a possible future extension of the House so we need to keep going!

To support Steve, on Tuesday 28th June, the school will hold a Superhero Challenge. The class will be doing a super Hero Run and activity challenge from 1,30pm and Steve and I will be providing capes and Super Hero masks for all the
children to wear and an ice cream van to serve drinks and ice creams for when they have finished. Mrs Wright has planned a really fantastic afternoon for the class, that I know they will all love.

This is more about raising awareness and the children having fun than it is raising funds, but any support is obviously appreciated.
