Story
3 years ago, we found out that Wester’s wonderful mother had breast cancer. We’re so lucky that her treatment has been successful, but that’s not always the story. Two years ago we walked 10 miles per day for 3 days in support of breast cancer research.
This year, we’re walking 21.25 miles in one day along the Trent Valley Way from Nottingham to Newark Castle to raise money for breast cancer research at the University of Nottingham. One in every nine women in the UK gets breast cancer in their lifetime. It is so common that we all know someone whose life has been touched by this disease. Breast cancer kills around 12,000 women each year, and that's 12,000 too many. Nottingham's research to detect it early, stop it spreading and find the treatment that is right for each case really can make a difference. Please sponsor me if you can - every little bit helps.
