Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am going to be facing my fears and abseiling the 100m drop off of Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth on 18th August 2018 in memory of little Lucas Hargreaves who was born too soon on the 13th May 2017 to help IOW SANDS update the bereavement room at the local hospital.

St Mary’s Hospital on the Isle of Wight is the only hospital on the island. We are extremely fortunate to have a dedicated bereavement room there. Families use this room to give birth and spend time with their baby afterwards, providing a calm, safe environment. Now, the room needs some gentle care and refurbishment itself. Isle of Wight Sands is supporting this refurbishment and wish to purchase some key items to make the stay of any family in this bereavement room as comfortable as possible. This will include a new double rather than single bed, nice bedding, appropriate and comfortable furniture, a new radio, toiletries and a discrete sign for the door. The area outside the room will benefit from a screen for added privacy when in use.
