Well I have agreed (although I don't quite remember when) to join a crazy bunch of hospital colleagues to row  a gig from Jersey to Southampton. I have always been up for a challenge; I have rowed a bit in the past, but not on the open water or for such a distance - what could possibly go wrong?

Like the rest of the team I have been training and am working hard to be row-fit for the challenge. We really do need a state of the art dedicated Children's Emergency Department. We are the Children's Major Trauma Centre for Wessex and the wider area, and as the Clinical Director for Major Trauma for Wessex I am committed to help improve our services for children. Building a new centre is part of that. So please do get behind us and support this mad venture!
