Story

Just over a year ago I started triathlon, then for some crazy reason I thought - let’s do an Ironman! So I signed up for the Copenhagen Ironman which will take place on the 19th August 2018, then as a warm up I will also do a half Ironman in Rapperswil, Switzerland on the 4th June, and Lisbon, Portugal on the 19th May.

For those of you who know me well, you’ll know I love a good challenge! This Ironman training so far has been a challenge like no other and I am sure the final few months preparation and this years races will be no different!

Why Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity?

In April, I went to Mallorca to train with the Challenge Tri Camp family for a week. During this week I met some great people from Team Hatch who were raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital in memory of Emma Hatch. Emma is the daughter of James, one of the men I trained with during Tri Camp. Emma suffered from unexpected heart failure and GOSH supported her and James family during Emma’s heart transplant and her battle against heart failure. Sadly Emma passed away at 15 years old after a long fight.

Since then, James and Team Hatch have become fundraisers for Great Ormond Street Hospital and they recently set out on a journey to become Ironmen. So I have joined their team and together we are all now raising money for this great cause with the massive goal of £100 000.

So please donate to this important charity and support me and Team Hatch on our journey to become Ironmen and women!
