Story
I became an Auntie last year and my brand new nephew is the most precious and adorable thing alive (in my biased opinion). When I look at him though, and every other child I see, I do wonder what life will be like for them in years to come.
Despite having worked in child protection previously in the Police, you don't need to be on the frontline to see how vulnerable and impressionable children are; and it's up to us, as adults who can protect them, to do exactly that.
Fortunately, UNICEF are one of the incredible charities working with partner agencies to ensure every child is protected from violence, exploitation and abuse.
Child soldiers. Child trafficking. Genital mutiliation. Child marriage. These are horrible concepts many of us only hear about. But it's actual reality to other people's precious little ones around the globe.
So, without further ado... If you don't fully appreciate the cause, please have a Peruse at their website to see the invaluable work they do www.unicef.org.uk
Together with 32 colleagues, we're aiming to raise as much as possible for UNICEF uk before we head off to the wuthering heights to accLimatize! We're taking on this tough charity challenge, walking 7 hours a day at an altitude of 3350-4650m. That's why between now and October, I'd like to incaorporate as much fundraising as possible in to my life, so don't hold back with suggestions!
Yes, it will be in-tents, yes it will be challenging but with a little bit of your help, I promise Alpaca my bags and give it my all!
Please, please put your Andes in your pockets and dig deep... whatever you donate, i'll Machu in effort!
Thank you :-)
