I really wanted to do something that was outside of my comfort zone and that I had always thought would not be achievable. Steve probably had the same thoughts before his many marathons, hoping he will look down and laugh at a fellow member of the front rowers union dragging themselves along for 13.1 miles for no apparent reason.
