I've run the Great North Run & Sheffield Half Marathon before and said never again, i prefer pubs to gyms and nightclubs to running clubs so it has to be a very worthwhile cause to drag me out of either and encourage me put myself through the pain and misery of another half marathon.

We are raising funds towards the University’s £2 million fundraising campaign for the Sheffield Scanner - a ground-breaking MRI-PET scanner facility, and the first of its kind in Yorkshire.

The Sheffield Scanner will represent the next leap forward in medical and imaging research and have a crucial role for research and patients in many areas of medicine, including cancer, neurodegenerative diseases such as Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s, heart disease, diabetes and stroke.
