On April 21st, Abigail and Stu are walking 17km on Exmoor including a 993m ascent! The walk has been organised as part of The Children's Challenge Mission, an organisation which arranges testing yet rewarding challenges for children with the aim to raise sponsorship for children's charities. The walk in April on Exmoor is the inaugural event!
The event spans a weekend. Stu and Abigail will arrive in Porlock on Friday evening, pitch their tent and get themselves ready to start walking on Saturday morning. The walk takes place during the day on Saturday, no doubt fuelled by Jelly Babies and chocolate, and not too many cries of 'are we nearly there yet' (from Stu)! Then back to camp late afternoon to have a rest, and maybe a couple of beers for Stu! They then head home on Sunday morning. It will not be an easy walk, but hopefully will be immensely rewarding.
We would really appreciate it if you could sponsor us for this challenge. We are raising money for Helen and Douglas House, a local children's charity that provides support and help for families and children or young adults who are terminally ill.
Helen and Douglas House is also the chosen charity of Invesco Perpetual and they have agreed to match the amount of money that Abigail and Stu raise.
