Story
Hannah was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome on 3rd February 2010. The news was devastating: there was no cure, no treatment, no hope. We looked ahead to a future where our little girl would lose every aspect of independent living, where every basic function would be a struggle, where her life would be, at best, limited and at worst, brief.
But times change and science progresses. Eight years later, treatments are in motion, a gene therapy clinical trial is on the horizon and hope is real. This February, 8 years after diagnosis, Hannah herself will embark on a clinical trial in London which will target her breathing difficulties, hopefully helping her to finally breathe normally and thereby vastly improve her quality of life.
This kind of progress, and the continuing journey towards the ultimate goal of a cure, is only made possible through grass roots fundraising. Every event, every challenge, every donation, plays its part in the bigger picture. Thank you for being a piece of that picture by supporting us - it is the reason we have come so far already, and the reason we will reach our destination sooner than we, eight years ago, would have ever thought possible.
Thank You
