Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

To raise funds and much needed awareness
for this critical appeal, highly passionate and
dedicated staff from the Children’s Emergency
and Trauma Department will be taking on the
mammoth challenge of rowing a gig for the first
time ever from Jersey to Southampton between
June 8 - 10 2018.
This demanding task will see 12 members of
staff conquer a 200km to mirror the patient
journey from Jersey to Southampton for trauma
cases brought from the Channel Islands over to
our major trauma centre here in Southampton.
It will take approximately 20 hours and will be
no easy feat: months of training and preparation
will be paramount to ensure the challenge is
achieved and in a safe way.

The aim is for the amateur rowers to raise collectively over £20,000 with corporate sponsorship contributing to make a total £100,000. This will, in turn, be match funded by the Government to add £200,000 towards the build!
