Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Durham Crew's decision to support the Stroke Association is particularly relevant to me because I had suffered a stroke in 1997 which 'took out' my left side coordination.  I have made a very good recovery and remaining minor after effects are not generally apparent .  I did the Great Tyne row in 2014 in aid of British Heart Foundation, shortly after having had a replacement heart valve (from a pig) and double by-pass, and recently I have had a metal knee replacement.  I am a walking advert for the N.H.S. and an example of how good it is to keep active in retirement!  Our crew name 'Stroke & Recovery' is appropriate to both this venture and the rowing which I enjoy so much.  Thank you for your support
