Story
- 1/3 of the world's population don't have access to quality healthcare.
- Only 2% of disabled people in the developing world have access to adequate rehabilitation.
- About 830 women and girls die in childbirth everyday, mostly in the developing world, most of which are avoidable.
I don't think these stats are acceptable and HHA aim to improve this bit by bit by providing life-saving health and disability care to the world's most vulnerable people through their work in Haiti and the South Sudan refugee camps. I've seen for myself the appalling conditions in which people are trying to survive in Haiti, and also the amazing difference HHA is making to individual lives and it's something I want to help with.
As a keen mountain climber, I've been eyeing up the 3 peaks challenge for a while and when Carwyn, HHA CEO & co-founder (and brother!), suggested putting a team together for HHAs 10 year anniversary, I was well up for it!
It means climbing the highest peak in Scotland, England and Wales in 24 hours. That's 3408m of climbing over about 25 miles with 465 miles of driving in between. It's a bit mad!
If you can help out by giving a bit of money to help people a lot less fortunate than ourselves, then I'd be really grateful! If you want more information about what HHA do then follow this link...
