#UoN500 and Nottingham Life Cycle 7

On Sunday 24 September 2017 the University of Nottingham is supporting a team of 500 runners of staff, students, alumni and friends in the Ikano Robin Hood Mini, Half and Full Marathons.

This event will be part of Life Cycle 7 – an initiative to raise funds for the Children’s Brain Tumour Research Centre (CBTRC). Over the past 6 years, Nottingham Life Cycle has raised over £2.3 million for life-changing research and is returning in 2017 to celebrate and support the ground-breaking work of the CBTRC during its 20th anniversary year.

Brain tumours are the leading cause of childhood cancer deaths in the UK. The CBTRC aims is to find a cure for all child brain tumours and to reduce the disability caused by them. Although their research is progressing,  more funding is needed to make the most of the scientific knowledge they are uncovering. So far, the University’s development campaign has made a great start, but we need to raise more money to save more lives.
