Story
At the beginning of the year, Sue (a close friend) and I decided to set ourselves the challenge of cycling 1000 miles in 13 days! Whilst completing our training we have been asked on numerous occasions whether we were doing it for charity. We saw this as the perfect opportunity to do just that and we have each selected a charity close to our hearts.
Working as a teacher it never fails to shock and upset me the amount of young people that suffer from mental health issues. From depression
to self-harm, the silent anguish of emotional pain seems to affect an ever increasing number of young people, (3 children in every classroom have a mental health problem). I’m sure we all know someone. Family and friends can often struggle to understand what’s going on and can feel powerless to help. Young minds is the UK’s leading charity championing the wellbeing and mental health of young people.
